Fat Freezing, or Cryolipolysis, is a non-surgical body contouring treatment that targets specific areas of stubborn fat, safely, and permanently destroying the fat cells.

Most of us have areas of fat on our bodies that don't seem to budge, no matter how much we try to watch our diet and exercise frequently. Cryolipolysis can treat specific areas of fat by cooling the tissue, and, as fat cells have a higher freezing temperature than other cells, the frozen fat cells are injured, while the surrounding tissue is unaffected. The treated fat cells are then eliminated naturally within the body, resulting in a noticeably slimmer shape.

Before/After

To achieve the most positive results from your treatment please review your pre & post care instructions

Pre care

Avoid caffeine & alcohol 24 hours prior

Avoid eating a large meal immediately before your appointment, but please do have a small snack to avoid low blood sugar

Increase water intake one week prior

Please do not apply lotions, perfumes, tanning lotions, etc on area to be treated

Ensure skin is in good condition, no sunburns, rash, irritated or broken skin

Post Care

Avoid caffeine, alcohol and high sugar foods following treatment

Increase water intake to assist your body in processing eliminated fat cells

No hot showers, hot tubs, extreme temperatures for 24 hours following treatment

Avoid extreme exercise or exertion, however mild exercise immediately following treatment has been shown to increase results (Enjoy a walk down beautiful Elma Street after your appointment!)

Is there any downtime?

No, you can return to normal activities immediately. The treatment is non-invasive and comfortable. There may be minor bruising, redness, swelling, or reduced sensation in the treated area, but these subside very quickly

What results can be expected?

Every individual is unique, and will respond uniquely, it does vary, however clinical studies have found an average of 25-35% reduction of fat in treated areas

How many treatments are needed?

Everyone's treatment is unique to your own goals and we will work with you during your consultation to determine your best treatment plan to suit those goals. Some individuals may find they achieve their desired results in 1-3 treatments, others may need more depending on their individual goals and the body's own response. Following your post treatment plan, including increasing water intake, eating nutrient and fiber dense foods, and getting adequate exercise can assist your body in eliminating the treated fat cells more efficiently

Are results permanent?

Generally yes. Our bodies do not multiply fat cells often, rather the existing cells will become larger with weight gain. As these fat cells are eliminated after a cryolipolysis treatment, new fat cells are not likely to replace them unless there were to be significant weight gain in the future

Is cryolipolysis right for everyone?

Most individuals in good health are candidates for cryolipolysis, however those with certain conditions that have complications relating to cold temperatures are not suitable. Also, as your body must process the fat cells, those with reduced liver and kidney functions are not good candidates. We will review your health history with you during your complimentary consultation to determine if this is the best treatment for you

What will my treatment be like?

During your initial consultation we will map out the area you would like treated and determine placement and number of applicators needed to properly treat the area. At your treatment appointment we will place the applicators as we have discussed, an anti- freezing protective membrane is applied to protect your skin. You will feel a deep pulling sensation as the tissue is pulled up into the applicator, this is not painful but an unusual sensation. You will feel the cold, perhaps a prickly feeling, but this passes within the first few minutes. Your treatment will last approximately 30 minutes, please feel free to relax, read, bring your tablet to watch a show, anything you would like to be comfortable. After the 30 minutes has completed the applicator is removed and we will massage the area to return the tissue to normal temperature, this can feel a bit tender or prickly as the tissue temperature rises. Afterwards you may feel a reduced sensation, or a bit tender, there may be mild bruising or swelling, all will pass shortly
